美籍华人青年杨洛基（季天生 饰）自幼酷爱中国武术，在师傅的指点下，他远赴重洋来到河南嵩山少林寺拜师学艺。虽然武功根基不错，但面对十八小铜人阵时洛基还是败下阵来。不甘心败在小孩子受伤，同时深深为中国武术之博大精深所触动，洛基留在少林寺中潜心修炼。 少林寺还俗弟子司马鹏（于荣光 饰）与境外走私团伙沆瀣一气，倒卖国宝文物。他得知少林寺中藏有铜马铁燕的雕像，垂涎三尺，不惜一切代价也要弄到手。为此，他一面抢夺藏宝图，一面勾结匪众向少林寺发起攻击。为了保护国宝和寺院，洛基和师兄弟们团结起来与恶势力展开斗争……
