They call in the police who soon run up against a brick wall, only finding out that the body is that of a dancer in London who the Bantry's didn't even know. 当第五季回归时，故事将紧跟Rita被谋杀的情节，「Dexter将对Rita的死做出反应」，「我们将看到他的痛苦」，「悲痛是他从未经历过的事情，我们会发现那很有趣」。此外，剧组表示Rita（JulieBenz）不会再回到剧中，但是她的两个孩子会留下来，「Dexter和那两个孩子的问题，是我们本季要探索的一个大问题。」
