在疆域辽阔的姜王朝，剑道文化传承万年，民众皆以修习剑道为荣。然而，能成功修炼至巅峰境界“剑神境”之人，却寥寥无几。十几年前，风头正盛的无极剑神被长生剑神设计重创，从此隐居山林，不问世事。如今，无极剑神唯一的弟子展一白终于成年，到了师徒俩约定的外出历练时机。 临行前，为了提高展一白的自保能力，无极剑神将贴身佩剑相赠，并嘱咐他尽快成长至剑神境。初入世俗的展一白，先后结识了王朝公主姜明月和镇南王次子李狂等人，为了尽快成长，他和伙伴们一起参加了“古王朝遗迹”试炼，开始了一段奇异之旅。
